Whose Afraid of the Government; Whose the Government Afraid of?
We need a government that can be as responsive to our needs and to use the technology available to serve us better. Yet often our government feels threatened by those companies who move in the market place at lightning speed. It is those companies, which the government has the most to learn from. Let the government learn form the entrepreneurs and allow them to streamline their efforts to serve us better. Rather than regulating to death the life-blood of America for fear that change may eliminate the need for a large government and thus reduce their control. After all it is our government not theirs. Why should we feel threatened; we are the government. Let the efficiency consultants and business people come in a help the government serve us better. Why cripple American Businesses who need to participate and compete in foreign markets. We need them to bring back some of our outgoing trade deficit flows. We are so over regulated it is hard to get out of first gear and get on the Global Highway. That does not mean we are down and out, it just means it would be nice to get a little help form the government so we can bring home some of the Worlds resources and money to US soil. Let's use American Free Enterprise to provide jobs offset the fuel prices, which is in part from a misunderstanding in what fuel really is, how it is made, refined and used. Additionally, why not let the private sector help the government practice with a few small projects to prove this works. There is no need for long lines needed at the Vehicle Registration Counters, Building Permit Counters, Unemployment Offices (there should not even be an unemployment office in this current economy anyway). Transfer everyone to other departments for six months. We have plenty of jobs for those willing to work. It is silly to protect the large blob of bureaucracy from the inherent efficiency it needs to survive and thrive. The businesses of America are not against you (us); we are with you, we are you. You see? Let's commit ourselves to working together so we can fly again? Think about it. Where have all the Heroes gone America is filled with standouts and perserverance; our nation has a rich heritage of strength and honor. We have so many heroes in our short 200 years of history it is hard to keep them all straight. Think of your favorite hero. So are many other great Americans. I can think of so many. Can you? And if there is not three separate and unique branches then how can we base our trust in any of the other two branches. And is such an obvious question not adding to the mistrust already inherent in the dog eat dog world of politics? If the Judgeships in this country can be either lobbied against or for by other branches and cause a sway in their future opinions then in fact we are blowing smoke up our rears to think that we have a quote FAIR system. If we lie to our selves about the vary nature of our court system, then that proves nothing. Is that a fact? Justice Department Losing the War on Street Gangs The Justice Department is at it again; promoting themselves in the mass media attempting to convince us we are safe. This time they are grandstanding a few arrests of alleged gang members. MS-13 is recruiting over 300 people per week in cities across the United States. Recently the Justice Department held a huge press conference, claiming that in a two-week period they arrested 582 people. Now then if the MS-13 gang is recruiting 300 people per week and the caught 582 in two-weeks then they are 18 gang members in the rear for that two-week period alone. Most of the offenders, gang members were said to be picked up between July 16 and July 28, other arrests followed after search and seizures of evidence was taken. Do not get me wrong it is great to catch these drug sellers, thieves and felons, but at a growth rate of 300 per week and an estimated 10,000 members and growing MS-13 is hardly under control; it more resembles a wildfire nearing its maturity. A Look Ahead to 2008 (Part I) Just as everyone has breathed a sigh of relief at the end of 2004 presidential campaign, I would like to take a quick look ahead to 2008. Unless George W. Bush is unable to complete his second term, 2008 will bring the third open presidential election (no incumbent running) in 20 years. You know; social security, illegal aliens, over regulation, homosexual marriage, corporate corruption, SPAM, Identity Theft, black-outs, fuel prices; on and on and on. My gosh, I was beginning to actually feel bad that I am an American. I mean all the stuff he mentioned did have a little validity to it. Even though he blew each issue out of proportion completely. I said to him that I am Anti-Hypocrisy and Pro-government. He asked what is the difference? Arrogance Of Terror The man on the tape raised his hand, pointing a finger into the camera, his AK-47 raised at his side, punctuating every threat and accusation. He seemed consumed with the intense desire not only to declare his intentions, but earnest in his attempts to persuade his threatened audiences of their culpability in his group's future aggression upon them. Like a serial killer, shouting obscenities into the ear of his victim, blaming her for what womankind's rejections had made of him, forced him to become, as he puts the rope around her neck. Yet this country and others are not only dealing with one serial killer, but thousands. Thousands, whose representatives shout proud pronouncements of fatwas and death to world audiences, becoming caricatures of themselves by the proliferation of their messages and their insatiable need for the eye of the camera. America Needs Election Reform to Ensure Congressional Honesty America must implement a policy on Election Reform that is equitable and fair to everyone. It is something we must do if we are to be a progressive society, a society for everyone, rich or poor. We, the people of the United States of America, must take back control of our lives by taking back control of our government. And the only way we can do that - be a government by the people - is with a logical Election Reform Bill. It is past due because our elected officials are thinking only of their careers and their futures. As our representatives, the only thing they should be thinking about is doing what is right for the American people who are their employers. Paid Assassins The civil war in Iraq seems to be much more mild than some had been predicted. Many pundits painted a doom and gloom scenario out of control. Yet we see in time period in Iraq that the civil war is reduced in duration. Generally civil wars do involve other nation states supporting one or the other. Ours surely did. Both the North and South had outside support. The Iraqi situation is no different. But all in all these things are to be expected by anyone who studies history and our war planners definitely have studied up on these things. Some Farmers and Organic Growers are Upset at Monsanto The organic farmers are angry that Monsantos terminator GM seeds will prevent the farmers from saving seeds from their harvest for next years crops and that Monsanto wishes to put them out of business. Actually it sure makes for headlines, unfortunately that is not how free enterprise works. Monsanto does not want to run anyone out of business; they want to sell seeds. If Monsanto holds them selves out as extortionists by overly inflating the prices as the critics seem to accuse them of doing before they have actually introduced it, then the free market would in fact take over and other companies willing to sell for less would emerge as at first smaller and then much larger competing players would they not. Isn't that the basis for our proven capitalist system, which has given Americans great quality of life, choices and the largest GNP of the next four other nations combined?
