So, you have an idea for a great website, and you want to make that idea into reality. Well, I am going to give you some secrets and advice on how to get all the resources to build your site.

First, the Big Secret! You don't have to spend thousands of dollars to get your own website on line. The first advice, don't spend a lot on your idea until you test it first! Many of the Dot Coms that have failed ran out of money because they spent too much on a silly idea.

The first thing you need for your website is a Domain Name. In my opinion the Domain Name should say something about your idea, although there are lots of famous sites with names having nothing to do with their product. Don't be discouraged if your first pick is already gone, be creative and try others. (All the 1, 2, 3, and 4 letter ones have been gone for a long time.)
Be wary of places that claim to have free domain names, in most cases they don't really sell you the name, it remains their property.
Once you have a Domain Name, you need a server. This is where many beginning companies make their biggest mistake.
